A New England Native, Shannon (she/her) came to DC in 2000 to study Drama at Catholic University. While there, she spent nearly all of her free time working in the Drama Department’s Costume Shop learning about the costume design process from inspiration to inception. Nearly all of Shannon’s early experiences with hairdressing are tied to the stage- French braiding her fellow ballerinas’ hair for childhood dance recitals planted the early seeds of bridal hairstyling, and pre-show dorm room dye jobs laid the groundwork for her love of major makeovers. After graduating, Shannon spent a decade managing hair salons by day, while freelancing as a Theatre Artist by night. After a detour styling Wedding Gowns at the loveliest of Bridal Boutiques, she officially turned her professional focus to the Salon Floor in 2015. Inspired by bygone eras, pop culture icons, and the highest of high fashion, she often describes vibes in a melange of styles; “1950s Art Student in the Italian Riviera after a summer as a counselor at a Berkshires Girl Scout camp … but in the 80s.” Whether on the hunt for the perfect clog + high-waisted jeans combo, DIYing endless house projects, or planning for every vacation with a carefully curated wardrobe, Shannon is obsessive in her aesthetic pursuits. She makes an annual pilgrimage to the Newport Folk Festival every July, and she’s usually daydreaming about spending time on a variety of coastlines. She resides in a 100 year old row home in Northwest DC with her husband, Rory, and young children Sylvia Marigold and Otto Wolf. Shannon is a Scorpio Sun/Capricorn Moon/Virgo Rising.
